/ Overview

This framework provides a structured approach to AI governance for individual schools and small groups of schools.

It covers the full lifecycle of AI tool adoption, from initial needs assessment and procurement due diligence through to deployment, monitoring, and review.

The framework is designed to be proportionate and practical, recognising that most schools do not have dedicated technology governance teams. It includes decision flowcharts, risk assessment templates, and a model acceptable use policy that can be adapted to local contexts.

Developed in consultation with 30 schools across England, the framework has been tested in both primary and secondary settings.
