Ross Renton is the University Principal and Chief Executive of ARU Peterborough, a role he has held since the university's founding in 2021. Under his leadership ARU Peterborough has earned widespread recognition including University of the Year at the UK Social Mobility Awards 2023 and the Alliance Award at the University Alliance Awards 2023. He is also a Professor at Anglia Ruskin University and serves as a Board Member and EDI Champion for GuildHE, the representative body for 67 UK higher education institutions. Ross is President of the Forum for Access and Continuing Education and sits on the Employment and Skills Board for the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority. A passionate advocate for widening participation and equality, diversity and inclusion, he has chaired GuildHE's Widening Participation Network for nearly nine years.
